Cool pink, lilac, lemon drop, pistachio, cocoa – there’s no shortage of trending hair colors to play with right now. Even if your client decides to stick with their trusted balayage at their next appointment (because let’s face it, it’s easy and grows out gracefully) there are ways to nudge them in a fashion-conscious direction and blend a contemporary color into their natural look.

To put this color technology to the test, Emily Boulin (@emilyboulinhair), Hailey Mahone (@haileymahonehair) and Sara Jane Maples (@blushandmane) – all members of MODERN SALON’s Artist Connective – used Goldwell’s Topchic, Colorance and @Pure Pigments to create color looks inspired by today’s latest and greatest hues.

Similarly, Boulin is a leader in strategic blends that pop. “I love adding a vivid punch of color to something natural to really make a client’s hair stand out!” she credits as her secret to vivids that take on a whole new glow.
