The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation (BCL) recently announced the names of four newly elected beauty and wellness leaders who have been elected to serve on its board of directors. Each new director has been elected to serve a three-year term on the BCL board. Newly elected directors are as follows: Frank Cacciato, CEO, Katherine Frank Creative, Inc.; CG Funk, vice president of industry relations and product development, Massage Envy; Colin Walsh, president DevaCurl; and Don Yearwood, owner, president and CEO of Carousel Beauty Colleges.

Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit foundation created by the American Association of Cosmetology Schools to build awareness of the extraordinary career opportunities available in the beauty and wellness industry and massage therapy. The foundation organizes and participates in a number of philanthropic fund-raisers each year that spotlight the charitable initiatives of the beauty and wellness community.
In addition to the new board members, a number of existing board members will continue to serve. Robert Passage, chairman and CEO, Pivot Point International, Inc. has been re-elected to serve a three-year term on the BCL board. Remaining Beauty Changes Lives directors continuing their terms include BCL Foundation President Lynelle Lynch, president and owner, Bellus Academy; Jan Arnold, co-founder and style director, CND; Reuben Carranza, president of specialty brands, Luxury Brand Partners; and Christine Gordon, president, Graham Webb Academy.
BCL Foundation President Lynelle Lynch said the board’s representation of product brands, manufacturers and educators along with salon and spa authorities reflects the broad industry support Beauty Changes Lives has engaged. “Each BCL board member has a personal connection to the industry and a life story about how beauty has changed their life. Collectively, they represent the enormous range of opportunities available to licensed professionals in the beauty and wellness industry,” Lynch says.
Each of the directors join the BCL board with a demonstrated commitment to leadership in beauty and wellness education. Yearwood serves as AACS President; and Cacciato, Passage, and Lynch serve as directors on the AACS board. Like Yearwood, Lynch is owner of a cosmetology school, serving as president of Bellus Academy. Funk was instrumental in developing the Beauty Changes Lives Massage Therapy Scholarship and Walsh has been a long-time champion of continuing education within the salon community.
