She's currently rocking several shades of purple, depending on the occasion, but in 2012, Kelly was one of the first in the limelight to make conscious the switch from to silver-platinum. At age 27, Kelly said going grey was "something I've wanted to do my whole life. I've always wanted to be young and have grey hair."

Rihanna ditched her blonde locks last week in favor of her natural, ebony shade, with a slight twist: gradually tinted grey ends. The pop singer refers to her new shade as "Brr" on Instagram and declares "Grey is the new black! Blondies, it's quiet for y'all!" The "navy" of Rihanna fans have been known to jump on any new style she's sporting -- so will we see a return of the grey-on-purpose trend we saw in 2012? Either way, best to be prepared with possible techniques, blends, styles and formulas. Here are a few to get you started, plus some past celeb silver styles to get you inspired.
