Eugene Souleiman (Wella) adorned the colorful Jeremy Scott fashions with an equally colorful, edgy and fun silhouette. A bonus interview with MAC make up artist Kabuki and nail artist Patricia Yankee.

It was top knotch beauty backstage at Jeremy Scott. The fashions, as always, were colorful and delightful, and were beautifully accented with appropriate hair, nails and make up.
I stopped by to check in with lead hairstylist Eugene Souleiman of Wella. ""It's all very post punk, gothic and 'Beetlejuice' inspired," he said. "It's about having a very bad attitude in hair...not shy. It's very brash, free style and a visual way of doing hair." He points out that there is really no technique, just picking up hair and cutting with a texturizing shear. "It's about having the balls to do it," he admitted. "I'm really in to cutting with thinning scissors, lately. I'm loving the very matte quality of the finish, especially with synthetic wigs. Jeremy makes clothing that is unreal...so the hair should be unreal as well." As a bonus, Eugene offers his tip on HOW TO get a perfect, sleek ponytail.
Over in the make up room, Kabuki for MAC was resting up while the models were rehearsing. In this video he offers an overview of the powerful make up design.
Nail designer Patricia Yankee was working nearby and selected bright and exciting shades to add her accent.
TRY THE STYLE:
STEP 1: Tightly pull back hair to the back of the center of the head and vertically fold in layers, from bottom up, securing with bobby pins flat to the head. Ensure all hair is hidden underneath the wig. Slick back hair and smooth into place using Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray.
STEP 2: A custom pre-cut black wig was fitted over the model’s hair and secured in place.
STEP 3: Spray Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Hairspray to create a matte, pliable texture to the hair, at the same time as hand blow-drying to create a very haphazard effect.
STEP 4: Then, apply texturizing spray for extra hold to hair on top; allowing the shorter pieces to stand straight up.
STEP 5: Finish with a mist of 1-2 sprays of Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray for a light overall shine.
