Kristina Cheeseman (@cheesemandoeshair) a hairstylist at Govero Salons, St. Louis, MO. says she loves "playing around with vibrant colors and letting my imagination run wild with color." This transformation caught our eye on Instagram.

"My client is one of my regular clients that loves vibrant colors," Cheeseman says. "She is always down for anything. The only stipulation is there must always be purple! She had about 2 inches of new growth, and her previous color had faded significantly."

Here Cheeseman shares HOW she returned her client to her desired shade with some added ooomph.

Get the color

STEP 1: Lighten the regrowth using Goldwell Silk Lift strong with 6%. Process for 40 minutes. Shampoo and condition with Goldwell Kerasilk Reconstruct. Dry the hair.

STEP 2: To the base apply 3 oz of Pravana Vivids Purple with 1 oz Pravana Vivids black additive.

STEP 3: For her ends, prepare 3 different formulas:

A. Darker blue: 1 oz of Pravana Blue with 1/4 oz Neon blue.

B. Lighter teal-blue: 1 oz Pravana Neon Blue, one inch Pravana Neon Yellow, 3 inches Pravana Blue.

C. Purple: 1 oz Neon Pink, 1/2 oz Magenta and one inch of Pravana Purple.

STEP 4: Melt these three colors saturating each shade the length of the section. Stagger the blues and violet's in a bricklayer pattern.

STEP 5: Process for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

"To style, I used ColorProof's SignatureBlonde Restorative Filler, and Kerasilk Repower Volume Pumping cream. When dry I applied Wicked Good by Colorproof and KMS Dry Extreme Hairspray."
