Janine Jarman offers an overview of the drama involved in opening a salon in NYC. In this interview she offers the overview of adding a second Hairroin location in mid-town.
Janine Jarman has been the successful owner of her Hairroin Salon in West Hollywood, California. Founded in 2005 with a tagline: "Addicted to Style" for "Hair Addicted" clients and staff, Hairroin is unique in its design and diverse clientele. A popular destination for fashion-forward Hollywood Elite, Fergie, Adam Lambert, Britney Spears, Christina Applegate, Katy Perry, Lil' Kim and Zooey Deschanel are just a handful of celebs who have stopped by for a touch up.
The good news for the east coast is that Jarman is opening a salon in NYC, in a surprising location...right near Macy's on 34th and Broadway. Scheduled to open in early June, Hairroin will serve as Sebastian's flagship salon in Manhattan (Jaman is a member of the Sebastian Design Team). The 1,500 square foot space will be located at 1333 Broadway and will house approximately 16 stations with 10 stylists. Hairroin will maintain the vintage theme that has worked so well in its West Hollywood location.

“New York is one of the world’s style capitals, inspiring trends that shape the entire industry,” says Jarman. “We’re excited to bring our brand of hair artistry to the scene, delivering fresh and inspired looks to the fashion-forward men and women of Manhattan. Our team considers every client a work of art, and this represents an amazing opportunity to contribute our talents to this vibrant beauty scene.”

In this video, MODERN asks Jarman three questions:
QUESTION #1: What are the Do's and Don't's of opening a new salon in a different state? ("Learning to streamline the process and getting a good management team is key.")
QUESTION #2: How do you maintain your brand on a different coast? ("Key is keeping someone in-house who knows and understands your brand.")
QUESTION #3: Staffing? ("We have a rigorous hiring process. If it's a great way to find and maintain a staff.")
