Rica Mendes from the Paul Mitchell School in Danbury, CT, designed this look as part of a hair show inspired by Cirque du Soleil's "Ka". She drew upon her experience with the Bedouin, a nomadic, agricultural group in Israel. The make up was meant to re-create some of the traditional face coverings that Bedouin women wear. It is meant to look like tapestry with inspiration from the Bedouin gold coin veils. Plus, Mendes drew upon Amazon culture to incorporate a fierce, warrior attitude. To create the look she used Paul Mitchell Dual Purpose Lightener, Red Inkworks, Twist Around, Sculpting Foam, and Worked Up.
