This updo I created is a creative textured updo. I used braiding and pin curl techniques to display this texture. I was inspired by the shape of top buns and vintage pin curls and wanted to blend two different trends of different generations.

My idea was to create multidimensional volume. I created a look that is built up and containing a lot of texture. I was inspired by sculpting and how you can manipulate hair into a sheet of fabric and and bend and sculpt with it.

Creative textured updo and multidimensional volume.

Name

Christina Stawiasz

LOOK 1

I used two #73 18 inch Auburn Reflecting Copper and two #30 18 inch Cinnamon Brown. No special treatments were used to modify the width or color.

LOOK 2

I used three #2 18 inch Darkest Brown and one #27 18 inch Palest Blonde extensions to create this dimensional volume style. To modify the width of the hair and extensions I used Joico Flip Turn hairspray with backcombing the hair and shaping the hair with my hands, then used a smoothing iron to flatten the hair out, turning it into a fabric. Finished it with Paul Mitchell Stay Strong hair spray.
