Bio Ionic partnered with MODERN SALON and L’Oréal-owned distributor SalonCentric on a nationwide hunt to give one hairstylist the biggest break of their career. The top four lucky hairstylists selected from the #MYBIGBREAK Instagram competition will attend the 2016 Annual Style Awards on April 24 at Club Avalon in Hollywood, where the winner will be declared amongst 700+ guests, including some of the nation’s leading creative artists, stylists and beauty industry elites. In addition, the winner will be featured in a nationwide print feature in MODERN SALON.
Bio Ionic created the #MYBIGBREAK campaign to become mentors and build an even greater connection with hairstylists, inspiring one of them receive possibly the biggest break in their career. The Bio Ionic team selected finalists based on their ability to share an innovative style using Bio Ionic tools. Hairstylists entered the #MYBIGBREAK contest by submitting an image of their art using Bio Ionic tools on Facebook, Instagram or by Email. The four winners will fly out to Hollywood to attend the 2016 Annual Style Awards. There, they will compete for the grand prize by showcasing their work in front of the audience and a panel of celebrity judges, such as Artistic Director for JCP Salons, Nick Stenson.
At the 2016 Annual Style Awards, each stylist will have 10 minutes to present their hairstyles with Bio Ionic tools, and try to win over the judges. After every presentation, each judge will provide feedback and scores. The judges will then have time to deliberate and select the grand prize winner. In the interim, guests will witness history as the founder of Bio Ionic, Fernando Romero, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. Later, a runway show displaying his award winning hair styles throughout the decades will commence. To conclude, the grand prize stylist will be awarded and all guests are invited to join the celebration after party.

The winning stylist will walk away with a MODERN SALON photoshoot, where their own “My Story” feature will be published in an upcoming issue. In addition to an editorial spread with MODERN SALON, the winner’s story and artistry may be highlighted and featured across all Bio Ionic, MODERN SALON and SalonCentric web, print and social media platforms.
