The Right Barbering Tools of the Trade for a Bald Fade

Fernie Andong (@FERNTHEBARBER on Instagram) and his client Timmy, who is also a barber and was a student of Fern’s, speak the same language. When Timmy asked for a “bald fade” but with length left on top for easy styling, Fern knew how to proceed. Timmy’s fade is fab and we wanted to share the tools used to create this on-trend style.

Here are his tools for success and simple steps:

  • Wahl Shaver Shapers
  • Andis T-Outliners
  • Andis Masters

STEP ONE: When the hair was towel dried, put in a quarter sized amount of Paul Mitchell MITCH Steady Grip Gel to give the hair hold and memory then blow dry it into shape.

STEP TWO: Style using MITCH Reformer.
