Although Alyssa Wiener(@lysseon) from at Sylin' Salon, Norwalk, Conn., has been a licensed professional for just under three years, she was not TERRIFIED when this client, an "awesome" firefighter, came in for a correction."We originally had a bright red phoenix red, but obviously the maintenance was too much for her," says Wiener. "Now she's just a beautiful subdued fire."

Here Wiener offers how she turned her from a grown out, faded shade to a perfect "Coffee and Wine" color design.

Formulas:

COFFEE: Scruples True Integrity 4NW with 10 volume developer ("For the root to match her natural color and warm it up a bit")
WINE: Scruples TI equal parts 6RR and 5RM and 10 volume developer

Step 1: Start at the root with the coffee shade.

Step 2: Pull the wine through to the ends, leaving the top layer out to blend the colors together.

Step 3: Process under heat for 30 minutes.

Step 4: Wash and use Scruples Red Urban Shock as conditioner for an extra pop of fun!
