“The hair this season is all about the modern day woman. It doesn’t really reference another time. It’s simply a beautiful, modern look. And that’s been the theme in all three cities. It’s very real. When I look at all of the shows together, there’s something very bourgeois. Natural hair has so many little nuances that add richness and luxury. There’s movement, fly-aways, texture—all these little things that not only I look at, but the designers look at as well. Maybe this — the ease and nonchalance — is the new take on modern luxury.” —Guido, Redken Global Styling Director

DUAL ACTION

Two textures are better than one... especially for the Spring/Summer 2015 season. Guido combined shiny/matte, wet/dry and wavy/smooth to create looks that captivated the eye with their dual personality. “My job as a hairdresser is to update styles to make them more relevant to today’s woman,” says Guido. “Combining two distinct textures takes a look that’s classic and makes it slightly futuristic.”

FORCE OF NATURE

Natural, effortless-looking styles abounded this season... but natural hair doesn’t mean hair that’s free of products or styling. As Guido explains, the difference is in the details. “Even the easy looks have little nuances that make them feel special,” he says. “The way the part is very natural and a little messy, or little wispy hairs around the face.”

CHIC CHIGNONS

From high and sleek to low and messy, knots and chignons are always a runway staple. This season’s chignons stood out with simple details, like wispy hairs that framed the face, and ends that stuck out for a more casual feel. It’s effortless but still refined,” says Guido
