The International SalonSpa Business Network (ISBN) recently elected Mark Kartarik, president of Sport Clips Haircuts, to its Board of Trustees. Kartarik joins the ISBN board in leading the owners and senior executives of the only international association for multi-unit salon and spa companies in growing both their own businesses, as well as the professional beauty industry. He will also serve as an ambassador for ISBN, sharing his stories about how the Association has benefited him and the companies he’s worked for over the years. Finally, he will help create content for ISBN’s Annual Conference (May 22-24, 2016, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA). Kartarik served on the ISBN Board previously, representing The Regis Corporation.

Kartarik Is president of Sport Clips Haircuts. Previously for more than 27 years, he was executive vice president and president of the franchise division for the Regis Corporation. In that role, he directed the management and growth of all of the company’s North American franchise brands, including Supercuts, Cost Cutters, First Choice Haircutters, City Looks, We Care Hair and Pro-Cuts.

In addition, the ISBN Board recently elected Pat Neville and Eric Bakken as its vice presidents.

Neville is president of the BeautyFirst Salon Venture Group and owns BeautyFirst Studio Salons, BloBars and salon suites. He is also a senior business development consultant for CosmoProf. He is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience serving as CEO, chief merchant, principal and consultant at every level of the beauty industry. He has significant experience implementing ecommerce, franchising, distribution, brand development and omni channel initiatives across a broad spectrum of retail, salon and manufacturing businesses.

Bakken is executive vice president, general counsel and business development, and chief administrative officer for the Regis Corporation. In those roles, he oversees Regis Corporation’s franchising, mergers and acquisitions, internal audit, legal, real estate/design/construction, travel and international functions. Bakken joined Regis Corporation in 1994 as a lawyer, becoming general counsel in 2004 and chief administrative officer in 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's College of Minnesota, and a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.
