NAHA 2010 Finalists Announced!

The Professional Beauty Association, organizers of the North American Hairstyling Awards, has announced this year’s finalists for the prestigious, photo-based NAHA competition. Vying for the title of North American Hairstylist of the Year are Steve Elias, Shirley Gordon, Shawna Parvin, Tony Ricci and Atoine Vadacchino. Finalists in nine other NAHA categories were also announced, with Makeup and Salon MBA categories still to come.

This year, NAHA 2010 will induct entrepreneur and founder of the Aveda Fredric’s Institutes Frederic Holzberger into the NAHA Hall of Leaders, and will recognize internationally renowned hair color specialist, educator and salon owner, Beth Minardi, with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

NAHA Fashion Forward Winner Faatemah Ampey has not slowed down since her big win in July. The girl who won over the hearts of stylists when she thanked Johnny Depp in her NAHA acceptance speech, “just because,” just landed a job as emcee at the ISSE International Fashion Theater January 30-February 1, 2010 in Long Beach, California and is looking forward to her first MODERN SALON photo shoot.
