Earthly Elements

by Jan Hillenmeyer

Christophe Gaillet, artistic director of Haute Coiffure Francaise and a Coiffeur Ambassadeur for L’Oréal Professionnel, calls his latest collection Dimensions. The dream-like and fantastical styles represent four elements of nature: Wind—Vent, Cloud—Nuage, Fire— Flamme and Waterfall—Cascade. The shape of the cut and the artful use of color leave no doubt which style represents which element.

Concrete Rose

by Jan Hillenmeyer

In a collection that celebrates beauty and strength—like a rose growing through concrete— the L’Anza creative team uses precise cutting and a combination of bold and subtle color in this newest trend. Concrete Rose was created by L’Anza creative talents, 2010 NAHA Master Stylist winners Oscar and Wendy Bond, and Matt Swinney. Each look reflects the bloom of inner beauty.

Geometric + Volume

by Lauren Salapatek

Robin Barker, owner of Hair’Sociates in Toronto, showcases Spring 2011 styles here. The looks are a new take on a geometric cut, a super beehive and a bouffant flip. Tapping into his other creative talents, singing and song writing, Barker recently released a CD to benefit the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which supports children affected by AIDS in East Africa. As if that weren’t enough talent, Barker is also the photographer who captured this collection. His salon colleague Victoria Klimova created the make-up.

Play Strong

by Jan Hillenmeyer

Play Strong was the rallying cry for the Goldwell Color Zoom creative team when they gathered in Hamburg, Germany, to experiment with bold color and dramatic contrasts in the creation of masculine elements underscore a feminine appeal that conveys strength and confidence.

Matrix Artistic Directors Brian and Sandra Smith were inspired by director Tim Burton’s film, Sleepy Hollow, in this eclectic collection. Outsized shapes, whimsical textures and attention to make-up and wardrobe details resulted in a dark, quirky trio of unforgettable images.

Glamorama

by Staff

Edgy Evening Wear

by Lauren Salapatek

Precious Metals

by Lauren Salapatek
