WATCH the runway and style show AND the announcement of the winners!
DreamCatchers, creators of 100% Remy Human Hair Extensions, is giving everyone reason to celebrate with the launch of their K-tip and Weft Systems, Battle of the Strands. On May 3rd, we saw a live styling competition with 11 teams and 33 contestants will be underway and streaming throughout the day. Influencers, updo artists, braiding wizards made up this talent pool of contestants who gathered IRL and worked together to create the ultimate dream hair.
In addition to inspiring and wowing, the live competition debuted the launch of two new systems from DreamCatchers: K-tip & Weft. Only the new K-tip and Weft extensions will be used in creating the extension makeovers, along with incredible hair color and styling choices.
“This is the perfect time to do an event because everyone ready to be engaged, again, and is looking for some excitement in the industry,” explains DreamCatchers CEO Chris Volek. “Anyone can follow along as these teams compete to create their best looks. They can stream it in their salon, they can get inspired by the work, and then they can vote for their favorite finishes.”
Beauty Warrior, brow artist and showman Adame (@adammeartistry) was acting MC, hosted a runway show and announced the winners that evening.
On the ground, it will be a tightly controlled environment, with only the teams and their models. “Everyone will get COVID rapid tests before they come the event and the salon environment is a beautiful, open and airy space.”
On Sunday, the models arrived and each team selected their muse. Wardrobe will be selected off the rack at the Vintage Shop of Dallas. Then on Monday, competition day, the teams of three artists worked at their stations for the four hours (from 1:00pm-4:00pm) of live work, with video streaming happening throughout the day.
“After 2020, with so many shows and events cancelled, we all needed a boost, a kickstart, and we think this is going to do that!” Volek says.
