Mark your calendars! The 2022 edition of Color the World, Cosmo Prof's virtual hair color and care education summit, is coming up fast, taking place on October 16th and 17th. This event features educational demos, competitions, and business management tips from the beauty industry's leading brands and familiar faces. This year’s Live Special Guest will be none other than world-renowned celebrity hairstylist and creative director of Color Wow Chris Appleton (@chrisappleton1), who will be leading a one-hour class on stage with a live model.

“Beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with Cosmo Prof at their Color the World event," Appleton says. "Over my career, I’ve been lucky enough to work with so many incredible clients and I’m excited to share some of my experiences. I love being able to give back and help teach aspiring stylists how to create the unexpected and push the limits of what’s possible!”

Cosmo Prof has made a commitment to expanding education and opportunities to more people throughout the beauty industry. Here are some of the exciting changes made for Color the World 2022:

  • Curriculum Expansion: Access to education surrounding skincare and nail techniques.
  • Language Inclusion: This year’s event will also aim to break down language barriers by adding Spanish-language classes.
  • Contestant Competition: Traditionally focused on hair styling and color, this year’s contestants will compete in the nail and textured hair artist categories as well. They will compete live in Dallas, TX for the chance to win $1500 in prizes and the opportunity to gain incredible exposure. Guests in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in the competition by helping select the winners live during the event.

"I am truly excited for Color The World because of not only the experience, but for the marriage of color and culture," says Cosmo Prof Artistic Team Member Keon Washington (@keonthebarber). "There are so many different artists out there that all come from very different backgrounds with very different clientele types. It’s amazing to see what results you can get when you have 10 people with the same colors and collections, yet all produce countless different results. In combining so many different imaginations and skill sets with top-notch tools, colors, and education, the results are endless."
