Before.
Begin with base color application in the back of the head. Using a
brush and bowl technique, apply Majirel: ¾ tube 5.25 plus ¼ tube
7N with 20 volume plus one ounce violet mixer to make a medium
plum brown. Apply to just the two inches closest to the scalp.
Continue to apply throughout the hair in ½-inch sections. Again,
apply just to the two inches from the scalp. Process 35 minutes at
room temperature.
While base color is still on, apply toner at the bowl on wet hair:
equal parts Violet Manic Panic and Clear for five to 10 minutes
with no peroxide catalyst (this makes a more pastel color). Apply
to all the hair—color will grab on the ends only.
Blow dry hair smooth prior to cutting.
Clean up the line along the nape, cutting against the skin to the
desired shape.
Using a razor, remove any excess hair from the neck.
Now take a curling iron and “set” the hair. Pull out from the scalp,
wrapping away from the face.
Wrap down to the scalp, secure with a pin and cool.
Longest lengths are set as shown.
Once cooled, gently brush out the hair.
Position hair as desired and spray into place.
