Anthony Turner, for L'Oreal Professionnel, created a beautiful but masculine finish for the J. Mendel SS 2014 collection presented at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. "For this look," he says, "the idea is to off set the clothes a bit. The clothes are so feminine so we are going a bit strong and playing with androgeny. We need to keep a bit light, but slightly conflict with the collection."

When asked how this look (or any of the looks presented at New York Fashion Week) is important to the salon world, Turner says the professional stylists should take the looks offered at fashion week and use them as inspiration. "Or maybe even just take an element and interpret it for your client. For example, this look is boyish...go for the proportion or translate to however you feel is relevant for you."

Turner offers an overview of the finish in this video, and shares his thoughts about translating the looks to the professional world.
