1. Section hair as shown, isolating all the
hair above the rounds of the head.
2. Begin the cut on the side at the side
burn. Cut straight across using the
Excel Ultra Clipper, a detachable
blade clipper.
3. Blend up to the isolated section using
a clipper-over-comb technique.
4. Direct the temple strands forward
using clipper over comb.
5. Clean up the line behind the ear to the
nape and blend up to the occipital.
6. Now take horizontal sections from
above the parietal. Use a razor to
blend.
7. Project the hair straight up from the
head. Using a clipper, remove the
corner.
8. Direct the fringe forward, use a razor
to remove weight.
9. Now go in with the Andis Charm
trimmer and defi ne the perimeter.
The key, adds Jessica Zeinstra, is to work with a tilted head along vertical planes. “Also playing with tension—all that works to create different lengths and weight lines.”
