Michelle Galvan (@hairbymimigal), an artist at Seasons SalonSpa, in Redlands, California, had an opportunity to add some life and dimension to client Camille's hair, an existing client who came in as a natural level 2, with hair grown out about five inches to a level 6/7 through mid shaft and ends.
"I did a full highlight putting 2 colors in each foil," says Galvan. "Our goal was to be lighter and brighter over all, while still having a soft grow out and a dimensional look all over. I started around that face and took smaller sections so those pieces would process to be lighter."
STEP 1: In foil: from scalp through her natural growth apply Aveda 7N 6g VB with 20 volume developer.
STEP 2: In same foil, from mid shaft to ends apply Aveda Enlightener with 30 volume developer.
STEP3: Cover with a new foil (so the colors didn't disturb each other).
STEP4: Process for about 25-30 minutes with no heat, then shampoo and condition the hair.
"The total time she was in my chair with color, cut & style was 2 hours & 15 minutes."
