Client Stephani wanted to go darker, and Masey (@masii.cheveux) at @butterflyloftsalon offered that and more. Here is her gorgeous color makeover recipe:
Step 1: Create a new base color. Mix 60 grams of Wella 20-volume developer, 40 grams of Wella Koleston 6/7, 10 grams of Wella Koleston 6/71, and 10 grams of Wella Koleston 6/. Apply from root to end in 1/2 inch sections. Process for 30 minutes without heat. Shampoo, condition, and dry.
Step 2: Paint on highlights (using a balayage technique) using Wella Blonder with 20 volume developer. Process lifting to a level 7 (in her case it was 20 minutes.) Shampoo and Condition.
Step 3: Time to Tone. Blend 40 grams of Wella with 10-volume developer with 30 grams of Wella Koleston 7/7 and 10 grams of Wella Illumina 7/81. Process for 15 minutes with no heat and rinse. Condition and blow-dry.
