Shannon Rha (@shannonhairsalon) of Shannon Hair Salon, Valencia, California, has been an artist for 16 years and says "I adore what I do so I never have to work a day in my life. I have a constant hunger to learn more about the newest techniques and colors. That hunger will never fade."

Here she shares the details for this transformation that took 5 hours from start to finish:

Step 1: Apply Wella Blondor with 30 volume and Olaplex to the back of the head in both foil and balayage placement.

Step 2: At the front, blend the same formula but up the volume to 40 and apply in foil and balayage placement.

Step 3: At the hairline keep the same formula but lower the volume to 10 and apply in babylights.

Step 4: Process for 45 minutes and then shampoo.

Step 5: At the bowl, add some more balayage pieces (Blondor with 40 volume and Olaplex) where desired. Process for 8 minutes and then rinse.

Step 6: Base adjust, (at the root only), with Illumina 6/16 and 7/81 with Pastel developer. For the mid shaft to ends apply Illumina 9/60 and 10/36 with Pastel developer. Process for ten minutes and then shampoo and condition.
