Inspired by the sand art hair that has been splashing color all over Vivid Artistic Hair Design's Instagram, Kelly O'Leary (@hairbymisskellyo) of Salon One Eleven in Winnipeg, Canada, wanted to try out some rainbow locks on her own client. She created what she calls "the perfect mix of ice cream and cotton candy that is summer, personified."

"My model came to me with prelightened hair (rare, but amazing!)," O'Leary said. "I used Pravana lavender on the roots, then went in, starting at the bottoms, and handpainted blissful blue, pink, mint, peach and yellow Pravana colors...I melted three tones, keeping the neon yello at the bottom."
