Your numbers are talking. Are you listening?
This June, Salon Today is partnering with ZeeZor to produce a new conference that helps salon owners leverage their data to grow their businesses.
The Data-Driven Salon 2017, which will be held at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast in Atlanta, GA, June 25-26, will provide a deep-dive into the metrics of salon success. Leveraging data resources from ZeeZor and Salon Today, salon owners will see how they stack up against the most successful salons, helping them identify their strengths and weaknesses.
Then, over the two-day conference, participants will learn from the owners and stylists who continually perform at the top in areas, such as retail sales, service sales, sales per service ticket, client retention and staff retention. They’ll be able to work on specific tasks that help them:
- Understand what their numbers are telling them about their salon so they can constantly assess their business’ health.
- Drive client engagement, allowing them to increase their average ticket, frequency of visit and number of new clients.
- Increase their retail numbers through merchandising and the education of clients.
- Learn the techniques and strategies of the most productive service providers and salon owners.
- Understand the different personality types among their staff and the strategies for motivating each one.
- Retain their best talent by creating a strong, positive salon culture.
- Map out succession and legal strategies that make retirement easier.
During interactive sharing sessions, salon owners not only will learn from the top stylists and owners but they’ll actively be encourage to share their own strategies for reaching a higher level of success.
The conference also will look at the role of technology in today’s salon and how successful salons use data, digital tools and online and social media to drive their business.
“This will be a peer-driven, hands-on experience, bringing together top salon owners, who are committed to success, in facilitated, structured environments where they can better learn how to put data and technology to work for them,” says Stacey Soble, Editor of Salon Today. “Any owner or salon manager interested in taking advantage of data, best practices and technology to drive their salon growth should attend. It will be an invaluable opportunity to develop a network of like-minded peers.”
The early bird ticket rate is $299 through May 19. (After the first ticket is purchased, additional tickets are $249) After May 19, the ticket price increases to $399, additional tickets $349)

What successful owners have to say about leveraging data to drive success in their businesses:
"As far as I'm concerned, the effective use of data will be the defining trait of successful salons in the future. At Gene Juarez, data isn't a tool, it's an obsession."--Scott Missad, owner of Gene Juarez Salons and Spas in Seattle, Washington.
"Running a salon is a lot like flying an airplane--pilots don't fly by looking at the ground, they use instruments. Well, data is our instrument. If you run your business without your instruments, you can only go as high as you can see, BUT when you understand how to read your data, you can soar above the clouds,"--Robert Cromeans, owner of the Robert Cromeans Salons in San Diego and Las Vegas.
"We’ve always been focused on the sexiness of styling hair. Well, we need to look at data as the next diva. It’s no longer good just to be sexy in style, now you’ve got to see data as the next big thing— the latest trend for salon owners. I’m telling you, it’s not the bob, it’s data."--Brian Perdue, owner of Salon 124 and Genesis Salons
"Understanding data is the difference between running your business proactively versus retroactively. Without data, you're only reacting to problems as they come up, but with data you have the ability to anticipate problems and recognize opportunities."--Frank Gambuzza, owner of Salon Visage in Knoxville, Tennessee.
