VIDEO DEMO: How to Use Temporary Spray-On Color from KMS StyleColor

by Alison Alhamed | January 7, 2019

We sent Sadie Gray, a colorist and stylist from Santa Rosa, California, and member of our Artist Connective, a box of KMS' new StyleColor shades to see what she would create and her results are incredible!

She first tried out the Iced Concrete shade, a metallic-silver tone that made her platinum client POP.

"I got my hands on some #kmsstylecolor from @kmshairus and did some experimenting, (sans gloves; note to self for next time!)," Gray wrote on her Instagram post @sadiejcre8s, poking fun at her "Tin Man"-esque hands! "For my first time playing with this product it was super fun. The results are soft and believable and I’m excited to try more! It feels like a dry shampoo in the hair."

WHAT IT IS: Fashion-forward spray-on hair color. KMS StyleColor is a collection of temporary color sprays,  and easy to apply with even results on both darker and lighter hair. Designed to stay put on the hair--and don't be afraid to bust out the silk pillowcases, this is designed to not transfer!

Available in nine tones: Iced Concrete, Smokey Lilac, Stone Wash Denim, Brushed Gold, Dusky Blonde, Rusty Copper, Frosted Brown, Raw Mocha and Vintage Blush.

PRO TIP: "It’s a spray and it’s paint," Gray says. Ventilation is key when applying--especially if you're doing the whole head like Gray did for this model.

PRESS PLAY! Check out this tutorial Gray posted on her Instagram page--click to watch her technique!

• IcEd CoNcReTe • This weekend I had the pleasure of having a bit of playtime with my friend @amburgerofhair ...and because I didn’t have the approval of her amazing hairstylist, the great @isaac4mayor ... I was nice about it and played around real temporary-like. 😉🤫 I got my hands on some #kmsstylecolor from @kmshairus and did some experimenting, (sans 🧤; note to self for next time). Overall though, for my first time playing with this product and it was super fun. The results are soft and believable and I’m excited to try more! It feels like a dry shampoo in the hair.💁🏻‍♀️ Sidenote: It’s a Spray and it’s paint, so turn on a light fan and open the window so that you don’t smoke yourself out if you’re doing the whole head like I did! Thank you to @modernsalon for introducing #kmshair to me! Stay tuned for more like this from me! Video Cred: Thank you @zini_fit 🤩 #sadiejcre8s #modernsalon #silverhair #pixiestyle #temporarycolor

Daisy Goord was excited when her new client came to her with a color “that wasn’t a million miles from where she wanted to be. YES it was too warm and YES it wasn’t lifted high enough, but there are several easy tweaks to make to hit her bright blonde goal.” Details for the makeover here.
