Salon Spa W in Des Moines, Iowa, has a strong reputation for creating tailored cut, color and service opportunities like extensions customized for each client.

In this collection, Salon Spa W’s Director of Hair Cutting Katie Jo Nelson was inspired by the bespoke trends in men’s fashion.

Bespoke looks don’t end at a well-made suit or custom shoe, she says. Just like a cobbler making a pair of custom Italian leather shoes these hairstyles were custom planned and cut just for these gentlemen.

Nelson says these cuts were designed to maximize the possibilities.

“That same level of detail and customization was carried through every aspect of the image, including the hand-painted background, which was made with hibiscus tea and coffee on cold-pressed watercolor paper,” she says.

Why it Makes Sense to be a Curl Expert

by Michelle Breyer
