While Whitney Houston will undoubtedly be remembered for her voice and impact on the music industry of the '80s and '90s, we can't help but remember her many influential and signature styles throughout the years. From mega-texture and volume to sleek and chic, let's check out a few of her most notable looks.

1987
Perhaps her most infamous style, the look seen in Whitney's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" left an impression on any young girl with dreams of larger-than-life hair and colorful hair accessories. Sure, the style was a bit overwhelming, but it's so totally '80s, which was essentially the decade of Whitney Houston.

1990
There's the texture we know and love. Whitney experimented off and on with colors—remember when she was ruby red at one point?—but she would occasionally return back to these natural curls, a grown-out version of the shorter 'do we saw her sporting in the very early '80s when she was just coming up in the music industry.

  1993
Bangin'! The superstar's incomparable fringe stood its ground among the many notable hair styles of its time, and it even stood its ground under all of those hot stage lights night after night on her many concert tours. Also, this was the style spotted throughout much of "The Bodyguard."

1994
Who could forget this romantic updo paired with an elegant white gown at the 1994 Grammys? Whitney chose this look for many appearances, awards shows and performances that year, sparking a trend for many teens of the '90s who wanted to sport cascading curls with their prom updos.

  1998
During her "My Love is Your Love" comeback tours, Whitney rocked some serious '90s height with this lighter, chic cut. She was always a lady of exquisite volume, until she tamed things down a bit with her next style...
  1999
After experimenting with the beforementioned lighter shades, Whitney stuck with this darker, sleeker 'do through the end of the century and much of the early 2000s. Her signature texture made its appearances off and on, but she mostly stuck with a relaxed look throughout the 2000s up until her death in February 2012.
