From September 21-23, hundreds of John Amico Haircare members convened at the Hilton Hotel in Oak Lawn, Illinois to celebrate the company’s 37th annual convention, Chicago, Chicago. The theme of this year’s event was “Partners in Excellence”—a direct reflection of John Amico's mission statement and the commitment the company has to its members.

“2014 has been an exceptional year. We were thrilled to recognize our top achievers, highlight details of our John Amico exclusive salon program and showcase local, national and international talent,” said company president, John Amico Jr.

Daily general sessions were headlined by international artists Jamie Carroll from Australia, Maria Miglietta from Italy and Arturo Prat from Spain. Educational breakouts taught by members and industry experts provided John Amico members with business strategies, product usage tips, technique training and more.

Full list of classroom artists included: John Amico, Jr., Roz Morris, Rhonda Murphy, Paul Digrigoli, Amina Chandler, Kitty Gray, Terry Back, Lynne Villiaros, the Jaad Team, Arturo Prat, Ivan Zoot, John Zeman, Maria Miglietta, Sandy Seeley, Matt Clair and Tondeo.

The convention featured a sit-down lunch where John Amico stylists enjoyed the recognition and networking time. Stylists also had an opportunity to purchase products and tools at the John Amico mall. With an exclusive line of haircare products, service products and color, John Amico Haircare invites hairstylists and salon owners around the country to join them in their fight against industry diversion.

Everything You Need to Know About the Goldwell Color Zoom Competition

Alison Alhamed | October 1, 2017

Color Zoom 101: Every year, Goldwell releases a trend collection that is used as the inspiration for its annual haircolor and style competition, Color Zoom. Across the globe, Color Zoom starts on a national level. Beauty pros compete in three categories— Creative Colorist, New Talent Colorist, Partner Colorist—by submitting a photo of their interpretation of the trend. Once the Gold winners of each category are determined on a national level, they go on to compete internationally on behalf of their respective countries during a live recreation of the look on their model—including the hair color—in front of a judging panel and audience. The international leg of the competition takes place in a new city each year.
