Enter Excellence in Education

Be a part of the “Excellence in Education” program, presented by MODERN SALON Media with the support of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS). Honorees will be announced at the AACS Fall Convention and via modernsalon.com, MODERN SALON and SALON TODAY magazines, social media and e-letters.

SCHOOLS OF THE YEAR: Fast Facts

Eligibility:
All cosmetology schools in the U.S. and Canada with students attending since January 1, 2016 or earlier are eligible to enter. Based on number of entries, a selection of schools will be recognized by MODERN SALON Media for “Excellence in Education” for 2017. 

Categories:
Schools may enter one or multiple categories of excellence by completing a simple application.

Chain schools:
Schools that are part of a chain may enter as EITHER individual locations OR as a “multi-unit” school.

Finalists:
Finalists are chosen in each category based on preliminary evaluation of all applications. Finalists are notified and may be asked to participate in an interview and provide additional information and references to complete the application process. Schools in each category are chosen to be recognized from finalists who complete the application process.

Deadlines:
All preliminary applications must be completed by August 31, 2017. Finalists will be notified by October 2017.

Entry fee:
There is a one-time (non-refundable) $85 processing fee per individual location entry. There is a one-time (non-refundable) $150 processing fee per chain entry.
