The Catalan chain of hairdressing salons in the northeast corner of Spain, Carol Bruguera, treats hair as fabric in this, their third photo collection, “Trenesis 3.”

By weaving hair, they have manipulated it with the same techniques used to create wearable fashion.

Previous collections on similar themes—hair as art medium and material—are Trenesis Masks, a collection featuring face masks made of natural hair, and Trenesis Bohemian, a more traditional, summer collection celebrating the freshness and movement of natural hair.

In their third outing, they have woven hair to create fantastical shapes with intricacy and precision.  From dramatic “waves” of hair to delicate veils, these works join hairdressing and haute couture.
