Salon and Spa Specialty Insurance Agency (SASSI) a provider of specialized liability coverage to the beauty industry for more than 70 years, is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the SASSI Salon Stars: Mental Wellness Champions Competition.
This competition will highlight the many mental health champions in the beauty industry amid high rates of burnout and turnover following the events of the past several years. Contest entries will come from salon owners, spa managers and other professionals in the beauty industry looking to share their salon or spa’s mental health journey or a champion who helped usher a new age of mental health and wellness awareness into their business.
The winning business will receive registration for America’s Beauty Show in Chicago, April 20-22, 2024, as well as a hotel stay and a $500 travel voucher. Winners will also be featured on SASSI’s social media pages, website and in applicable earned media opportunities.

Entering the contest is simple: share a short story (300 words or less), with any helpful photos and videos, about how your salon bolstered its employees’ mental wellness or a champion within your organization who helped strengthen your internal mental health program. The winner will be able to demonstrate how the services, programs or changes they or their nominated champion implemented helped create concrete change for, or awareness of, mental health and wellness issues among your staff.
The contest is open to any salon, day spa or barber shop located in the United States, and anyone age 18 or older can enter the business in the competition, whether they are staff or an independent contractor.
