The Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund announced the first winners of its student scholarships and salon business grants. When Cécred launched in February of this year, founder Beyoncé Knowles-Carter committed to awarding an annual $500,000 through the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund to fund cosmetology school scholarships and salon business grants across five cities chosen for their large, diverse community of hairstylists: Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.

The announcement of the fund’s first round of winners comes just days before National Hairstylist Day on April 30th, underscoring Knowles-Carter’s dedication to honoring the stylist community through fostering talent and supporting entrepreneurship through economic equity.

Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund School Tour

In two months since launch, the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund has been hard at work positively impacting the stylist community.

The Cécred and BeyGOOD teams embarked on a cross-country tour to the five cosmetology schools chosen to be the recipients of the inaugural fund. The tour allowed over 200 aspiring stylists and barbers to experience hands-on product training, intimate education, and encouragement from Cécred’s Head of Education, Dr, Kari Williams and Lead Global Stylist, Neal Farinah.

Cécred’s Vice-Chairwoman, Ms. Tina Knowles, joined the Houston stop to surprise attendees and personally share her experience as a student at the Franklin Beauty Institute and her wealth of knowledge and expertise in haircare. Each school was stocked with Cécred’s complete collection of haircare and tools to continue opportunities for education and hands-on learning.
