Chantel Duncan Williams (@beetlejuice_hair) of Rancho Cucamonga, California loves to experiment and try new things out of her comfort zone. "I myself change my hair almost every 6 weeks," she says. "I feel like there is always more to learn and improve on so I'm constantly taking classes and watching videos online to better myself." When we saw this transformation on Instagram we wanted to know more. Here she shares the HOW TO which took place in 2 sessions:
Before: In the first session the client arrived with faded black box dye. The design to dark red ombre took place in one day. On her next vision, the red had faded and some regrowth. These steps are from this visit:
Step 1: To the regrowth apply Matrix HDRR with 40 volume developer.
Step 2: Draw through to the mids, but not to the ends.
Step 3: Process for 25 minutes, then rinse and shampoo.
Step 4: Glaze with Rusk 5.6R, just along from roots to mids, again, leaving out the ends.
Step 5: Shampoo with Joico Red Shampoo.
Notes: I did not apply anything to the ends this whole service because I was going for a fiery ombre and I knew the red would bleed down and tone it perfectly to make a seamless blend.
