TRANSFORMATION: Solid Blonde To Balayage Dimension

Anna Chait (@Annadoeshair), a senior stylist at D Rock Salon in Fairfax, Virginia, says she has been "working as a stylist for 8 years and living out my passion everyday. Color is my favorite, especially balayage and hair painting, as well as dimensional colors and color melts."

For this client Chait had a chance to incorporate many skills. "She had nearly solid blonde from years of foil highlights. We decided to tone down her root and paint her ends lighter to give her a much more modern look with pearl blonde ends."

Here she shares the HOW TO:

STEP 1: To the root area apply Wella Color Touch 7/1. Feather down about 2.5".

STEP 2: Use the same formula to strategically place lowlights (weave in foil), leaving OUT porous ends.

STEP 3: Balayage most of the hair with Wella Blondor with 10 volume and Olaplex.

STEP 4: Process for 30 minutes after application is complete. Rinse.

STEP 5: Tone with Redken Shades EQ 9V for 7 minutes ("this helps remove unwanted remaining yellow tones to get the whitish pearl blonde finish on ends").
