Scarlet Strange (@venomus_maximus) of Tease, Knoxville, Tennessee says that "Bridget is a natural level 4 and she usually likes to go platinum. Recently she's been toying with idea of a creative color underneath, so we decided to get a little crazy! We chose a palette of silver, slate, violet, and aqua."
Here Strange shares the HOW she formulated and placed the color to meet her request:
STEP 1: Lighten the dark new growth with Alfaparf Supermeches High Lift and Oxid'o 20 volume developer at 1:2 ratio. Process at room temperature for 45 minutes. "I personally only process lightener at room temperature, using heat during the process can certainly risk the integrity of the hair." Lift to a level 10.
STEP 2: Tone with Redken 9v/9t (1:1) to remove any remaining brassiness. "Then we started on the fun part!"
STEP 3: Part the hair with a zigzag/diamond shape directly underneath the occipital. Taking diagonal panels within, apply slate (Milkshake's direct color in grey), aqua (Pravana green and blue 2:1), and Pravana violet. "We decided to go from platinum to a frosty, icy blonde on the rest." For that apply Joico Titanium, scalp to ends. "It creates the most beautiful silver."
STEP 4: Process at room temperature for 20 minutes.
"For the cut, we chose a shattered diagonal bob, removing weight from the end lengths and also exposing all the fun colors. We were both thrilled with the results!"
