Cathy Tran (@prostylistcathyt) of Corona, California says this correction took 14 hours. "This client has been through many sessions with other colorists, but was having trouble reaching her target shade," says Tran. "Even with lots of hidden breakage underneath, with the help of Olaplex, I was able to save her hair and also keep the integrity of her hair better then when we first started off!"

Here she shares the HOW TO:

Step 1: Section hair into 5 star sections, working from the bottom up. Using a balayage/ombre technique, apply Redken Flashlift with 20 volume, turning it into 10 volume with Olaplex.
Step 2: Process stained areas first from previous color to line of demarcation. Once lifted to a level 9/10, pull through the ends for another 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly and apply Olaplex number 2 for 45 minutes.
Step 4: Rinse thoroughly then shampoo and condition with Joico KPAK Color Therapy.
Step 5: Tone with Wella Color Charm T14, T11 (full bottles) with cool shades 30 volume, adding Olaplex. Also add 12a and 9a as an additive (meaning just half a bottle of 12a and 9a with no developer.) "Because color charm toner lifts and tones I use the same formula for her roots blending it all together as well, only applying to the root area the last 7 minutes."
Step 6: Process toner for 25 minutes. Rinse and apply Olaplex number 2 for 30 minutes.
