MAKEOVER: Balayage For Dimension and Lift

Courtney Krzysztofik (@hairbycourtneyk) of Grace Hill Salon in Winnipeg, MB says, "My passion for hair started at a young age as I used to cut my dolls' hair and style them. My family and friends have always asked me to style and color their hair and one day I thought 'I should make this into my career!' Done!"

Here, she shares the details for this transformation that we found on her Instagram page:

"My guest came in with dark brown hair with a hint of red and wanted to go quite light. My first step was to do a full head of balayage with Schwarzkopf BlondeMe and toned with Redken Shades EQ Gloss to get the bronzed tone.

During our second session, I did another full application of balayage and brightened her up -again using Schwarzkopf BlondeMe and Redken Shades EQ Gloss. That time, I used 3 Shades EQ toners, as she still had some red in there: Zone 1: 6N/6GN, Zone 2: 8N/8GN, Zone 3: 9N/9V.

Third session: I did an application of balayage. BlondeMe with 15 Volume, toned with zone 1 root shade: 6N Shades gloss, and zone 2/3: 9N/9V.

We finally got the perfect color she wanted! She knew it was a process and it would take a few sessions. She loves her new look!"
