What happens when you get Garren on hair and Pat McGrath on makeup to collaborate on a look for whimsically fantastic designer Anna Sui? Well magic, of course. If there was a look I wish I had the guts to rock on a daily basis at the office, it would be this one; bow down to beauty royalty's magnificent creation.

The Anna Sui FW ’17 collection was inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli and the parties she used to throw. Garbs were adorned by ruffles, lace and fringe, luxe jewel tones and more.

Garren, celebrity stylist and R+Co co-founder, used R+Co products to create a variety of looks based on lengths and texture, but the show’s most memorable look—now iconic for this season—was a play on the rolled hair of the 1940s, with a 2017 twist. The hair was complemented by McGrath’s bold makeup look, which included royal blue sparkling eye shadow, feminine lashes, and bold blood-red lips on a relatively otherwise untouched-looking face.

“We used a variety of products to get the texture we wanted,” Garren said.

I have a feeling that this look, reminiscent of an elegantly funky Harajuku girl, is going to be seen a lot more even before fall 2017 due to its relatively simple three-step process. Here’s how Garren and his team achieved the look for this double-top-knot creation:

STEP 1: Prep hair with Sail Soft Wave Spray (launching March 2017) for texture, and part down the center.

STEP 2: Create two “Minnie Mouse twists” at the crown.

STEP 3: Finish with Outer Space Flexible Hairspray to lock in the knots at the crown, and Trophy Shine+Texture spray (launching March 2017) from mid-shafts to ends to encourage natural texture.
