Instagram can lead plenty of new clients into your chair, many of whom probably should have sat down there a long time ago! Aoife Carr's (@blendedblondes) new client found her on Instagram. After talking to the perspective client, Carr knew what the she needed was going to take a lot of time--there was a lot of hair and a lot to fix. 

Carr is a balayage and blonding specialist. She says the client came in two months later with about 2 inches of new growth at a level 6, the highlights at a level 9 most of the way down, but her ends were a level 6-7.She wanted to remain blonde, with a more natural look and less upkeep. Here, Carr explains how she took the client from grown-out and mismatched, to a pale, pretty blonde in this five hour transformation.

STEP 1: Apply babylights throughout the whole head with Truss Professional blanc.blond lightener with 20 volume and baby-lowlights only through the top with Matrix ColorSync. She also used Truss Professional 8x powder in the lightener.

STEP 2: Rinse the foils underneath (Carr says it took 2 hours to foil the client's whole head of thick and long hair) then let the top finish processing.

STEP 3: Rinse hair and towel dry. Colormelt at the chair. Carr used Matrix ColorSync for the first inch and a half down in 7N and 8P into a 10P. Process for 20 minutes.

STEP 4: Shampoo, deep condition and then cut hair.

STEP 5: Blow dry and wand!
