“Women and men want to feel empowered and ready to start each day of school looking and feeling their best,” says NovaLash Brand Ambassador Bianca  Betancourt @purblissspa (center with two of her college-bound clients.)

“Lash extensions are ideal for busy students,” declares NovaLash Brand Ambassador Bianca  Betancourt @purblissspa. “All they have to do is wake up and go!”

Many lash experts count students among their clientele, including Betancourt and NovaLash Brand Ambassador Nikki Melillo @letstalkmakeupstudio. Here they share three how-tos that save their clients from daily, mad-dash headaches.

NATURALLY WISPY
This client has oblong-shaped eyes and her natural lashes are extremely straight and light. Not only is she a student, she’s also a mom, so lash extensions help her look good all the time with minimal makeup. “People tell her her eyes are her best feature,” says Betancourt.

The strategy: Betancourt creates length to extend straight lashes, and loves a natural, wispy look.

The lashes:

NovaLash American Volume

C-Curl: .07 8s, 10s, 12s and 14s

D-Curl: .05 10s and 12s

Place the C .07 lashes throughout and place the rest sporadically throughout the lash line. “Mixing C and D lashes gives her a dramatic, textured look,” says Betancourt. “The D .05s make the look fluffy and I use the C 8s to the darken the lash line.”

Home care: “My client faithfully removes her makeup with the NovaLash cleanLASH pads each night and brushes her lashes with the NovaLash gold wand every morning,” says Betancourt.

Pro tip: “Because she has a lot of natural lashes,” says Betancourt, “I lift the lashes with a tweezer and my left hand and if any natural lashes pop through I apply 8s and 10s. That way I’m able to grab every lash possible.”

EYE-OPENING
The strategy:
This client is a student and a loan officer, with classes and meetings scheduled non-stop. It’s important for her to look good as quickly and easily as possible. “She’s also half Asian,” says Betancourt, “so I wanted to design a shape that opens up her eyes.”

The lashes:

NovaLash American Volume

D-Curl .05 10s and 12s

D-Curl .07 8s, 10s, 12s and 14s

“I used all D-Curls because her eye shape requires a curlier shape,” says Betancourt. “I started with the 8s at the inner corner, placed longer lashes in the center, then went back down like a rainbow toward the outer corner with some 14s at the very outside.”

Pro tip: “For Asian eye shapes, be sure to place 12s or 14s right in the center. That will really open up the eye and pop when there is a heavier eyelid.”

ALMOND EYES
The lashes:

NovaLash Nova Minx.

NovaMinx Odds C-Curl, 7 to 13

NovaMinx Classic Curly C-Curl .20 mixed with .15, 6 to 12

“Girls are leaning away from the cat eye shape,” says Melillo. “They find the almond shape gives the eye a younger, more open appearance. To achieve that shape, I work in sections. I place 7s, 8s and 9s in the inner corner, gradually moving to 12s and 13s in the center and then back down towards the other corner. I love the NovaLash Nova Minx—they give the appearance of so much volume and texture.”

Pro tip: “I begin every service by filling in the androgen hair,” says Melillo. “Focusing on these baby lashes helps create the fullest result. Once you complete the androgens, go back and create length on the telogens.”
