Career journey: Ulta Beauty has opened up so many new doors for me over the past seven years. When I was in cosmetology school I set a goal to travel to do hair, and because of Ulta, I get to live my dream. The Salon at Ulta Beauty offers so many career opportunities—you can work in management, education or even be a part of the Design Team!
When I started with Ulta, I didn’t know what was coming my way and had no real expectations besides challenging myself to “learn a lot.” I moved through the training and worked my way up to Master Stylist then Elite Stylist. Through Ulta I have been Redken Color Certified and I auditioned and earned a spot on the Design Team. I am lucky to meet and be mentored by some of the top leaders in this industry. I am soaking it all up, learning new things every day.
Sharing and giving back are critical parts of my Ulta experience, too. Ulta carries so many amazing products, I am constantly learning new things from these brands that I can share with my co-workers and guests. Through Ulta Academy, the Pro Team, the Design Team, even our social media, we constantly support each other to be knowledgeable, well-rounded and trend setters.
Some people still may think of Ulta as a corporate salon. It doesn’t feel like that to me. It is our own little family connected to a larger network. They make it so easy to work here. Ulta empowers us to be in charge of our own business and gives us all the tools we need to be successful. It may sound too good to be true, but it’s fun, fresh and real.
