Check Out the Versatility of this Plant Based Color

Biolage continued its “green beauty” mission with the launch of a damage-free, strengthening color line that offers 20 nature-inspired, long lasting intermixable true-to-tone shades

Each new Biolage hair color shade is 82 to 100% plant-based with minimal ingredients. The “clean henna” in Biolage Color is metal-free and made with cassia. With Biolage Color, the maximum number on the list of hair color ingredients is ten or fewer; and the Clear formula contains only two ingredients. Just add water! Biolage Haircolor is also vegan.

We had colorist Sydney Ann Lopez try out the line for herself. Lopez is best known for colorful, vibrant color creations. Biolage Color, with shades that include Rosehip, Mint, Ginger Copper, Beige and Chestnut Brown, stood up to the challenge with incredible vibrancy.

Stylists can use these deposit-only formulas for a variety of services including:

  • Toning
  • Color glossing
  • Shine enhancement
  • Gray blending
  • Lowlights
  • Multi-tonal effects
  • Color Melts

Check out a few different ways Lopez used Biolage Color.

As a toner: The processing time is the same as traditional hair color. For toners, processing time is 10 minutes. For gray blending, process under heat for 30 minutes, and cool for an additional 15 minutes.

Before lightener: Biolage Color is different from metallic color because it can lift out of hair.

For multi-tonal effects: This "amber waves of grain" blonde Lopez created showcases multiple dimensions.
