MODERN Makeover challenged Anthony Lombardi, owner of Anthony Robert Salon of Verona, New Jersey, and make-up artist Olivia Blois Sharpe to create a “Jersey Club Look” on the Style Network’s newest Jerseylicious cast member, Jacquelina Bianchi. For this look, Lombardi demonstrated a foil high/lowlighting with a gentle root bump. “In this case I did a partial highlight toward the front and in the crown, with a few scattered lowlights throughout. The root was lifted slightly for a little depth along the parting.”

Before.
Place on foil a medium weave from ½-inch sections
and apply the highlight formula: Lakme Lak Blonde
(powder) with 20-volume developer.
Place highlights in horizontal foils in the front, along
the rounds and in the crown. In the back, scatter foil
demi lowlights, in the same medium weave. Formula:
7/13 Gloss Collection, a golden ash blonde, with
dedicated developer.
For the last 10 minutes, place a permanent shade of
high-lift blonde along the root, between the foils to lift
slightly. Root bump formula: Lakme 11/10 Super
Blonding with 30-volume developer. Process for 45
minutes. Shampoo and condition the hair.
Style hair with different curling irons sizes to achieve a
varied finish.
For volume, backcomb the base at the crown and add
a chip-in extension under the backcombing. Top with
a headband—Lombardi used a mask placed
asymmetrically.
TOOLS: BioIonic blower and Style Winder; Hot Tools
curling iron.
