BOLD Moves: The BOLD MINDBODY Conference

Anne Moratto | November 2, 2015 | 12:52 PM
“Do we like YELP? Doesn’t matter if we like it or not, it’s not going away, so you have to maximize. It’s ok to ask people to review you on YELP.” --Amanda Patterson, senior director of marketing, MINDBODY.

The BOLD MINDBODY Conference, Oct. 11-13 at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, CA, was business education for salon and fitness professionals, offering them the tools and understanding to continue bringing their vision to life.

With wellness classes and yoga on the beach to start out each day, attendees chose from a schedule of breakout sessions which included instruction from MINDBODY staff and industry experts on topics including the latest trends in sales, marketing and staff management.

“Marketing is really fun if you love what you are selling,” Amanda Patterson, senior director of marketing, MINDBODY, said. “You are actually doing the world a favor by telling them about yourself.”

Patterson emphasized the importance of picking the appropriate social platform to share a business’ message and also encouraged everyone to define their brand promise.

Vice President of Sales for MINDBODY, Stephanie Jennings, presented on selling strategies. “Everyone in this room is technically a sales person,” Jennings said. “Being assertive is being confident and that comes from the passion you feel for what you’re sharing.”

Capping the weekend was the BOLD Bash, an evening of networking, and the BOLD Award Ceremony, recognizing MINDBODY clients who have reached milestones during the year including the biggest year-over-year growth, the most online sales and more–exemplifying what it means to be BOLD in business.
