NYFW: The Cool Girl Ponytail at Prabal Gurung

Anne Moratto | March 21, 2017 | 10:57 AM

Hot Tools co-sponsored Prabal Gurung’s Fall 2017 Show at New York Fashion Week with Lead Stylist, Anthony Turner.

The look was a modern take on the classic ponytail, with textured, tousled hair in the back that contrasted with the clean, deep side part in the front of the head.

"This look is a very strong, very androgynous, powerful look," Turner says. "It has got a sense of ease to it, though. It has that downtown element to it that is quite cool and very New York."

Turner used the Hot Tools Tourmaline Turbo Ionic Dryer, Soft Grip Paddle Cushion Brush and the new Curlbar to create this effortless chic finish.

STEP ONE:  Apply Wella Sugar Lift throughout the hair.

STEP TWO: Dry with Hot Tools Tourmaline Turbo Ionic Dryer

STEP THREE: Comb-in a deep side part.

STEP FOUR:  Apply Wella Rugged Texture and rake the hair back into a ponytail with fingers, securing in the middle of the head.

STEP FIVE: Using Hot Tools 1"Curlbar, bend hair in different directions to make a natural wave pattern.
