Music software was the inspiration for Pravana Guest Artist James Gartner's pixelated haircolor design.
Gartner started with a sleek, platinum-blonde bob as the base of his artistic design, then used Pravana Locked-In color to create a bleed-free design. The end result is edgy and cool—and can be recreated with any combination of Locked-In shades.

STEP 1: Pre-lighten hair to level 10 with Pravana Pure Light Power Lightener and choice of developer.
STEP 2: Shampoo and condition with Pure Light Brightening Shampoo and Conditioner.
STEP 3: Clean up the cut. Gartner chose a one-length bob for his model.
STEP 4: Dry the hair completely. Flatiron hair for precision placement during application.
STEP 5: Lay a barrier beneath and 1/8 to 1/4-inch slice. Press Formula 1 into thick, striated, vertical lines.
STEP 6: Lay a clear barrier down and drop another slice.
STEP 7: Comb into place and apply Formula 1 over the previous vertical lines.
STEP 8: Lay a clear barrier and drop a slice.
STEP 9: Comb into place and apply Formula 2 in vertical lines alongside and slightly overlapping Formula 1.
STEP 10: Lay a clear barrier and drop a slice.
STEP 11: Comb into place. Apply Formula 3 in blocks connecting the space between the applications of Formula 1 and 2.
STEP 12: Repeat steps 5-11 on the other side.
STEP 13: Process 20-30 minutes at room temperature.
STEP 14: Rinse. Locked-In colors will not transfer. Shampoo, condition and protect with Pravana Vivids Color Protect.
STEP 15: Dry and style.
