Areeba Farooq (@areebachops), a hair artist at JY The Style Studio, Karachi, Pakistan, says, "This client walked in with a reference image of a seamlessly blended balayage and wanted warm caramel tones on a natural 5 level. Taking wide panels diagonally, I worked my way up lightening her hair using the foilyage technique." Farooq describes foilyage as "balayage, using foils, not open air."
STEP 1: Using L'Oreal Professionnel Blond Studio with 30 volume developer, apply in a foilyage technique throughout the hair in wide diagonal panels.
STEP 2: Process at room temperature, lifting to a level 8. Rinse.
STEP 3: Tone for ten minutes using L'Oreal Professionnel Majirel 8.1.
NOTE FOR FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT:
Two months later the client returned "to spruce up her look and fall towards a deeper ash tone." Farooq toned using L'Oreal Professionnel Majirel Cool Cover 7.11 with 20 volume.
