@kimkardashianKim Kardashian’s blunt, textured, shoulder-length bob with a heavy side bang is a versatile haircut that can work on various clients depending on their face shape and texture.
Kim has been seen wearing the look a few different ways so far – at the Roc Nation Grammys brunch she opted for messy, beach-wave texture; and at the Grammys she opted for a textured look but kept it sleek. Then, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York she sported a straight, sleek look.
Here, PRAVANA shows how to achieve Kim’s signature color, new lob haircut and style in this video!
COLOR:
STEP 1: Start with clean, dry hair.
STEP 2: For Kim’s signature color mix Chromasilk 6.11 = Chromasilk 5N with 10 Volume Developer.
STEP 3: Apply color evenly, roots to ends.
TIP: Apply Nevo Hydra Pearls to the color mixture to increase shine and add softness to the hair.
STEP 4: Process for 30 minutes at room temperature.
STEP 5: Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Nevo Moisture Rich.
CUTTING:
STEP 1: Prep the hair with NEVO Intense Therapy (acts as a cutting lotion).
STEP 2: Section the hair at the natural part and from ear to ear across the crown. Section out the nape.
STEP 3: Create your perimeter guideline. Use Scissors or a razor.
STEP 4: Below the occipital, take horizontal sections and cut in a slight graduation.
STEP 5: Above the occipital, take vertical sections straight back, cut in square layers.
STEP 6: Continue back through the sides, pulling vertical sections back and cutting gat a 90° angle.
STEP 7: In the crown, take vertical sections up at a 90° angle and cut in concave layers.
STEP 8: In the top, take horizontal sections at a 90° angle, cut in concave layers, using the crown as a guide.
STYLING
STEP 1: Dry the hair.
STEP 2: Apply NEVO Super Shape to the hair in sections then brush through.
STEP 3: Take vertical sections, curl the hair with a 1”-1 1/2” curling iron, leaving the ends out.
STEP 4: Allow the set to cool.
STEP 5: Finish by smoothing through curls with a bristle brush.
