Announced live from Matrix Destination 2018, eight-time Grammy award winner Fergie debuted an incredible opportunity for stylists to win BIG with the FergiexMatrix social media hair color photo contest, and celebrated her new partnership with Matrix as the SoColor Cult Icon.

Live from the main stage, Fergie, musician, TV show host, beauty and fashion icon shared that the big win for the contest is the chance to assist with Matrix celebrity stylists to color and style Fergie and her dancers’ hair at an upcoming concert in New York City.

Inspired by #SOCOLORCULT looks from the @Matrix Instagram page, entrants were asked to submit a vibrant fashion shade—a back of the head shot—with a personal message to Fergie on why their work should be selected.

In this clip, see Fergie on stage at Matrix Destination as she shares the details on the new contest, her gushing love for the artists in the beauty industry, and all about her new partnership with Matrix as the SoColorCult Icon.

"As an artist I find inspiration in all aspects of my life: My successes, my struggles, my family and my friends," Fergie said on stage. "But as easy as it is to find it, it's also easy to forget sometimes. There've been moments in my life where I didn't know where the next idea would come from, which road to take, which project to develop. As artists, we are constantly looking for those signs of inspiration. But then something happens: you get quiet and those ideas, those inspirations pop into your head and this idea in your mind explodes and you can create it. You watch a sunset, or kids make us laugh, in an instant, you find that idea of brilliance and we're artists again, aware of our calling. And not only are you all inspiring as artists, you guys have been my therapists, my person to lean on. When I'm going out there and I have 50 jobs to do and performances, and I get to sit back, you make me feel confident, you make me feel beautiful, and you make me feel great as a friend, someone who has my back. So thank you for that."
